Artbooking in August Blog Hop Week Two

Welcome to week two of Artbooking in August.  I'm glad you decide to stop by - I'm sure you will be inspired by over 35 talented Close To My Heart Consultants.  If you have come from Polly's Blog, you are on the right track.  Remember this is a circular blog hop and if you get lost or confused along the way, the list is posted on Adeline's blog here.
The Artbooking Cartridge has so many images that is is difficult to choose!  This week, I made a Christmas ornament.  It would look cute as a package tag too.  Now is the time to get a head start on your holiday projects!
Check out page 56 of the Artbooking Booklet.  The Icon image is a Christmas ball ornament. I cut that image in silver glitter paper at 4 1/4" (real dial size).  Then I cut Photo Mat 2 on page 80 at 3" (real dial size) in White Daisy cardstock.  The penguin is from the Hostess Rewards stamp set - C1560.  He is stamped using black ink and then again using Crystal Blue Ink.  The scarf and ear muffs are paper pieced and mounted onto the penguin using mounting tape, giving some dimension to the penguin.  I used the CTMH Silver Metallic Pen to accent the scarf and top band on the ear muffs. The snowball is covered in Prisma Glitter.  My original idea was to make a "shaker" type ornament so I punched a 2 1/2 circle from a piece of  transparency film and mounted it under the white doily piece.  Then I added a little prisma glitter to the inside before I completely sealed it with Liquid Glass.  However, the glitter paper is so "sparkly" that you can't really see the glitter on the inside.  So if you want to make something similar, you can easily skip that step or use regular cardstock so there is contrast between the cardstock and glitter.

I wanted to add a tag with a sentiment from the new Holiday Tags D1560 set on page 105 of the new Idea Book.   This set is perfect to add a sentiment to all those little gift bags or boxes.  The AP cartridge is usually my "go to cartridge" for tags, but I really wanted to find something I could use from the Artbooking cartridge.   Photo Mat 1 on page 83 is shaped like a tag and so I cut it at 1" (real dial size) in White Daisy and layered it onto Crystal Blue cut  about 1/8" larger all around.  The "Happy Holidays sentiment is heat embossed on the mini tag using silver powder.  The tag is tied onto the bow using Grey Baker's Twine. The bow is CTMH Color Ready Seam Binding colored with Crystal Blue Ink.  I "crumpled" the ribbon and let it dry before making the bow.  This product is so versatile - it will match every project because it can become any color ribbon.

Thank you for stopping by our blog hop. OK, now it is off to Jean's Blog, Stamping Maui, to see her beautiful creation for this week.  Happy Hopping!
